A Final Perfect Day

At least for once, Sunday night all was right in the world. The Cardinals closed out their home schedule with a two run walk off triple by Rick Ankiel moments after Albert Pujols almost destroyed Brad Lidge’s career all over again. Finally after the season from hell, order was restored, and all was right in the world. Even if it was only for one night.

I know last week I said that I was done for the regular season, but after Sunday nights game I just had to say thank you to every one over at Viva El Birdos for making the season from hell bearable. Without them, I never would have made it. I hate to name drop because I’m probably going to forget some one, but I’ll give it a try. Lboros, Val, Erik, houstoncardinal, liam, Hardcore Legend, effin fisk, mattyfrommo, spants, Discojer, nycardfan, nybirdo, Alxfritz, chinmusic, Hugo,  sdrone, Mr Redbird, SleepyCa, Zubin, punchinjudy, DriverZn, Podlol, Pujols, enoscountry, willievinceterry, and every one else who is a regular poster on VEB. If I forgot some one, I’m really, really sorry. I did this all from memory so I hope I didn’t forget any of the regular posters. I know this sounds cliche, but every one there really is part of the best fans in baseball. I am very honored you allow me to hang out with you guys. And for that I say thank you. Thank you very much.

OH boy is he back! Rick Ankiel made his return to the St. Louis Cardinals tonight with a bang. He hit a line drive 3 run home run to right field, causing every one watching to go crazy. Tony La Russa included. Oh by the way, the Cards won the game 5-0 over the Pardres. More on this magical night later. But I just had to get this out as fast as I could. Hopefully I’ll have a better pic of Rick too. This day just rocks.

When Your Best Isn’t Nearly Good Enough

The Cardinals let one slip through their fingers last night. With chance after chance to get a much needed win last night, the Cardinals fell flat on their face.
